Product information

Angelicin is an angular furocoumarin, a DNA intercalator and crosslinker with diverse photobiological effects. Upon long wavelength UV irradiation, forms monoadduct with double-stranded DNA and react with unsaturated fatty acids. Inhibits DNA and RNA synthesis and cell replication in Ehrlich ascites tumor cells. Angelicin is used as tranquilliser, sedative, or anticonvulsant.

Risk. Harmful by inhalation, in contact with skin and if swallowed. Irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin. Limited evidence of carcinogenic effect.
Safety statement. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection. If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If not breathing give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If swallowed, wash out mouth with water provided person is conscious. Call physician.
